Nabeel Ud Daulah started his career in Investment Banking with Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank in UK. In 2010 he returned to Bangladesh to join the family business, Dird Group. In 2012 he was appointed Managing Director of the Knit Garment Division along with Technical Textiles Division. Dird Composite Textiles Limited (DCTL), the flagship knit composite unit under his supervision, is one of the premiere knit composite factories in Bangladesh. It serves customers throughout Europe, with notable UK customers including M&S, Tesco, Next and Sainsbury’s. DCTL has received numerous awards including, Best Worker Friendly Knitwear Factory andEnvironmental Compliance Award. In 2013 DCTL received Supplier of the Year awards from Next, Tesco and Stanly and Stella. Nabeel was born in Singapore and spent his early years in Malaysia. At the age of 6 he moved to Bangladesh and finished his high school there before travelling to USA for further education.
Nabeel graduated with honours from Columbia University, New York, USA with a degree in Computer Engineering. He went on to obtain a Diploma in Economics from Cambridge University, and completed his Masters in Economics from University College London in UK.
Dird group started operations in 1983 with its engineering company, Dird Private Ltd. In 1984 it entered the garments trade with its first woven garments unit, Dird Garments Ltd. Today Dird Group has grown into one of the leading business houses in Bangladesh. It has interests in diverse sectors such as textile and garments, technical textiles, specialised engineering construction including subsoil treatment for infrastructure construction, agriculture and floriculture.
